The Flexible Role of a Wedding Consultant
Monday, October 27th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedA modern wedding is a major feat of planning and even a relatively simple one can get out of hand and end up costing thousands. It is easy to get caught up in this weeks fads and to try to do everything you see on tv. Well, if you are going down that route, why go the whole hog and employ a wedding consultant.
It may not seem logical to add another expense to the list, but have you considered that it could save you money in the long run? Her contacts in the businesses that you will need to deal with will allow her to get you better deals than you would be able to. She will be giving them a lot of business and they won’t want to lose that.
At least she can prepare list that you can work from so that you know when to start booking the services you are going to need. And a really good wedding consultant will be able to work with you to come up with something that meets your expectations but stays within your budget.
If you are teeming with ideas but can’t put them into a plan or you don’t know where to start, your consultant can ride to the rescue. The creative input is nice, but what about all the dull details? Listing the things that go towards making a wedding can be quite frightening.
If your budget allows, you can leave everything to your wedding consultant. Working through her checklist, she can agree each item with you and then you can safely let her take care of everything. Nothing will be missed out and everything in a timely fashion so that it comes together on the day.
However, the scope of the wedding planning service is flexible, with the level of involvement being reflected in the cost. Obviously it would be lovely to hand everything over to someone else and reduce the stress, but that would be the most costly option. The couple can decide what degree of involvement the consultant will have.
There may be some elements of the planning where you would like to take a more hands on approach. Maybe you have contacts in the catering industry and can to arrange that for yourself. You could be able to do most of the organizing and just use your consultant to bounce creative ideas off.
At the very least, she can help you to prepare a timeline and a checklist that you can work from so that you know when to start the planning and when to book the services you will need. Even this could be an invaluable help making your wedding day a day that you will remember for the right reasons.
