In bygone eras a plain gold marriage band was the most typical choice for men. The ring was usually yellow gold and wider than a girl’s ring. Today, the options for mens wedding bands are as various as men’s clothing styles. Classic is still there, but now bolstered by a large range of fresh styles. For ornamentation it’ll most likely have at most a milgrain scroll along the edges. Take the complete opposite, as an example : a contemporary tungsten band with inlaid gems. They are highly scratch resistant and can polish to a high glaze that resembles silver. Little rubies are a favourite among several men, their color highlighting a great design.

The lighter style is a grayish metal that polishes to a refined shade, good for a low key style. It can be inlaid with a stripe of yellow gold or crowned with a fine diamond that matches the woman’s ring. Scratches won’t show and there’s never a wish to replate the exterior, as with some lesser quality rings. A lot of men today favor a smaller width band than those of generations past. The lighter weight and thinner style appeals to those that seek a minimalist ring that is highly interesting. This choice also opens up larger chances for matching ring sets. Lots more men will wear a ring of this sort, when in the past they could have foregone wearing a ring continually at all.

The comfort fit and silvery glaze fits in well with an overall style of class and dynamism. All the same standards of quality in a stone - great cut, perfect lucidity, fine color - still apply. All the entrenched facets of an impressive band continue to tell modern designs. Scratch resistance, sturdiness to keep away from going out of round and other qualities remain important. But added to these is a totally new arena of style options for mens diamond wedding bands.

The Worst Wedding Food? - Today's earlier post (which asked you all to be inspired about your wedding food) naturally reminded me of all the weddings I've been to where the food was anything *but* inspired. The worst was probably a wedding at a hotel a few years ago, where the only thing I found remotely edible was strangely the calamari. Everything else was horribly overcooked, bland, and displayed in huge portions which remained uncomfortably clammy. A note to that hotel staff: Spaghetti should not be mushy. A strand should not break into four pieces when you try to pick it up. Need I say more?

But perhaps the worst tale I've heard of wedding food is from a friend, who reported that a recent wedding, which took place at a strip-mall catering hall, tried so hard to look fancy and yet was so obviously cheap. Tiny portions of chicken were dust-dry, while the beef was so tough it was literally impossible to cut it with the knife. But surely that can't be the worst wedding food you've ever experienced.
