You have your wedding coming up and you want it to be absolutely perfect but you’re also looking to save as much money as possible. After all, you have your honeymoon coming up and you’d rather spend it in the Caribbean rather than spend it at home. There are many wedding planners out there and they all typically charge a lot of money for their services. However, what if you just got a wedding planner book and learned all there was to be a wedding planner? Couldn’t you do just as good of a job as someone with certification and experience? A wedding planner book may give you the know how, but it cannot replace experience and an eye for detail. So the answer to the question is really it depends on the person.

Innate Ability

Most wedding planners were born with an eye for detail. They have an eye for color and color matching, for what belongs in a wedding and they know deep down how to satisfy the bride and groom. They know how to make their vision a reality and that’s why they went into this kind of work. That’s something no wedding planner book can emulate. Sure, a wedding planner book can give you ideas, but when it comes down to making elaborate decisions and putting it all together, few people can do it like a naturally born wedding planner.

Business Contacts

An experienced and certified wedding planner will already have business contacts lined up. They’ll have a place to get wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen tuxes, they’ll have flower shops lined up to get the flower arrangements and they’ll have caterers lined up to provide the food. A wedding planner book can only give you ideas on where to find these types of places and how to set them up; but there’s no guarantee you’ll actually be able to find openings in these types of places. That’s something only a well respected, experienced and highly reputed wedding planner can do.

However, if you are great at coordinating colors, great at planning and you know a thing or two about weddings, a wedding planner book may be able to provide you with everything you need to plan that perfect wedding. But if you want your wedding to be absolutely perfect and you don’t want any problems, you may want to hire an experienced wedding planner to plan your special day for you.
